It was humid, loud, nutty and a huge success! I hear Sherri took it to the lawn to finish signing hundreds and hundreds of copies of Acheron after the Parthenon closed at midnight. It *may* have been cooler outside by then. Hard to tell. Nashvillian Augusts are sweattastic, even at night. We had a great time meeting fans, eyeballing everyone dressed up like Dark Hunters and vampires, listening to Sherri's brother's band (it was hard NOT to hear them!), watching babies miraculously fall asleep in their strollers (the event started pretty early), eating chocolate fondue, and meeting the effervescent Barbara Vey of PW's "Beyond Her Book" blog.
We had just been to a most excellent dinner at a local eatery with some of Samhain's leading ladies (Crissy Brashear, Angie James and Lisa Amrine), who were also at the Acheron party. It was one of those nights where everything just came together, especially considering I was able to get hubby home from work early enough to babysit.

Oh Jody, it sounds like you had a ball! It's so wonderful to be able to get together with other writers and people in the industry, isn't it? I only wish it happened more often. :-)
That was a blast. I still need to upload my pictures too, thanks for sharing yours! :)So sad...I can't even figure out the camera and how to download the pics. Oh well, I will see you on Saturday Jody!
It was a great night despite the wilting heat! Loved seeing the Dark-Hunters. It's so much fun to hang out with my writer friends. And I really enjoy Sherrilyn's books, but mostly I went just to drive my sister Mysti crazy jealous. She's a huge Dark-Hunter fan but lives in PA, too far away to make it for the party. So sad for her...she missed a fabulous night!
But we did have a blast, didn't we?
Very nice picture of you four ladies! Thank you for visiting my blog.
Wowza, Jody, you are HOT! And not in the Nashvillian Summer way, either.
Glad you had such a good time!
Dangit! Ya'll have all the fun. Hopefully, I can "visit" Nashville soon.
Sounds like a great event. Nashville in June nearly killed me a few years ago -- can't imagine how hot it must be now.
And that it was at the Parthenon -- very cool. That was my favorite place in Nashville.
Hey guys! Thanks for checking out the blog entry. We did have a great time and I'm still waiting on Michelle's photos :). And actually Richmond in the summer is worse than Nashville, IMO.
Jody W.
You look terrific, Jody! Glad you had fun.
