A Meankitty Holiday Fable

One of the tasks Pink Thing completes in k-garden is to make little booklets of her own words and coloring. Yesterday she brought home a book entitled "The Christmas Tree" that we here in the Meankitty household immediately recognized as a Meankitty fable. The pictures are not interesting because they are not freehand, but the short story is as follows:

Up went the Christmas tree,
Up went the lights,
Up went the star,
Up went the candy canes,
Up went the ornaments,
Up went the cat...

Down came the tree.

The moral of this story is that a cat in the tree is worth two on the couch, insofar as being destructive is concerned.

We'll upload an illustration when lazy ole Typing Slave can brave the upstairs and the scanner!

Sincerely,
MK

Good for you MeanKitty. You are raising a human who thoroughly understands the role of a cat-owner. (by which I mean the cat is the owner.)

(our tree is still up, but ornaments have been rearranged. I I didn't put out the little creche from which the baby Jesus figure makes such a good hockey puck.)

This story also provides an opportunity to teach Pink Thing about some basic Physics (i.e. gravity, etc)

My cats have been ignoring the tree so far. Of course, it's an artificial fiber optic thing, so maybe it's not too tempting. It's also only 3-4 feet tall.

Maybe we'll get a real tree next year and see if anyone gets tempted to climb it. :-)

Ours is artificial too. Maybe that's why Belle hasn't tried to climb it. She does scoot under it to go and hug the heat register. So far she hasn't knocked off one ornament.

ha ha ha rock on Meankitty!

I wanted to thank you for the cool magnet & bracelet. I'm not one for bling myself, but my mommy wears it everyday and people ask her what it is for and then she gets to make other beans smarter by telling them (and makes herself feel better.)

I hope you like the Christmas card I sent you. Yup, that is me in a stoopid outfit on the cover. No fair laughing it wouldn't fit around my Mancat belly. No worries, my beans sill suffer greatly for that insult...

Stop by my bloggy sometime!! Mr Hendrix the kitty (and my Evil Alter Ego Bendrix....see, I don't climb the tree...Bendrix does.)
