From JW:
I am not normally an indecisive person, but I'm currently involved in the development of a group blog (that's going to be FANTASTICO!). It's forced me to rethink my blogging style yet again.
Neither Meankitty nor myself has ever been a frequent blogger or website updater. At one point I had everything combined -- sites, blogs, and so on. Then I thought, hey, is it professional to have posts about cat barf and babies on my writing blog?, and I separated them. Then I thought, hey, some of my writing is not-for-the-kiddies, so I got a pen name and new website for that (Ellie Marvel) and separated it from the Meankitty / Jody Wallace stuff. How many cyberlocations does one person (and cat) need? I mean, really. And this doesn't even include the MySpace I thought it would be a great idea to set up.
Then just today I thought, hey, I'm tired of maintaining separate blogs. I can't combine the websites, but Meankitty's posts are funnier than mine anyway, so I am combining them forthwith. I've updated the title to "Writer & Cat" since it's pithier than "Meankitty & her Typing Slave" and updated the "About Me" section as well.
For convenience, I'll mark my posts with a "writing" tag and Meankitty will mark her posts with a "cat" tag so visitors who only want to see posts of one or the other ilk can follow the appropriate link on the sidebar. Right over there to the right -- see? If it's unprofessional that my business blog has the added value of kitty snark, so be it. I can pretty much guarantee my books have the added value of kitty snark in them somewhere, whether in fact or spirit :).
Hope it works out for you all! Because I'm pretty sure it'll work out for us. As long as the cat is willing to share.
