Sounds almost poetic, doesn't it? A Rhythmic Pounding.
In practice, however, the bangs, clanks, crashes, thumps and primal drumbeats of the roofers is not poetic. Plus, one of those weirdos insists on roofing to the rhythm of Shave and a Haircut. Does it make the shingles and nails pound in better? Does it make his day more entertaining? Is it required by the Roofer's Union?
The anxious-making part of this is Weird Roofer #1 keeps rapping out the first part of S&H and sometimes, but only sometimes, is there a response of Two Bits. Usually from somewhere else. So when I hear that famous 5 right overhead, I automatically stop what I'm doing to listen for the refrain. And? And? Where is it?? Am I supposed to answer, to let him know that he didn't, in fact, knock the ceiling fan to the floor? Or disturb the baby's nap...again?
Who am I kidding...what nap? The noise is ceaseless. My house is no echo chamber, but the hammer party on the roof (Please Hammer, don't hurt 'em) is magnified twofold. Twobitfold.
Oh, and the cats? Not liking the roofers one bit, two bits, three bits or four.
Sincerely,
Typing Slave

Hopefully you will get a reprieve for Thanksgiving!
it'll get better , at least your not stuck with a dog...
Oh, man...that guy is lucky you're past the hormonal pregnancy bit. I can just imagine how I would react to that banging and what not! And, just for the record...did you know that MC Hammer actually has a blog? I followed it for a bit, but it just wasn't my "thing." :)

Yay! A diversion from the usual insanity! You should be HAPPY! :)
When are there gonna be more new mean kitties in the gallery?
Better a little while with the hammers than a long while with a leak. Although puddles can be fun.
